Marsman Drysdale Medical Products, Inc. (MDMPI) started its operation under the Marsman Drysdale Corporation (MDC), Medical Products Division in the year 1990. It was set up as a distribution arm for all products of Coulter Electronics HK Ltd., a subsidiary of Coulter Corporation, USA. At that time, Coulter has just re-entered the local market for automated instruments in the field of Hematology, Flowcytometry, Immunology, and Particle Characterization. When Coulter forged a marketing agreement with Instrumentation Laboratory (IL) of Spain, MDC (Medical Products Division) took over the local distribution rights for its product line sometime in 1994. This consists of automated Blood Gas Analyzers, coagulometers, Electrolyte Analyzers, and Flame Photometer systems.
Since the year it commenced its' operation in 1990, MDC (Medical Products Division) has been a consistent major player in the in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry. It has gained market leadership in the Hematology business for years since. In July 1999, after the integration of Beckman Instruments Inc. of Fullerton, California, and Coulter Corporation of Miami, Florida, MDC (Medical Products Division) again assumed the local distribution rights for the diagnostic products of the newly merged company, Beckman Coulter Inc. through its subsidiary, Beckman Coulter (HK) Ltd. With this development, the company could provide almost 80% of the routine tests done in the Clinical Pathology Laboratory.
In preparation for its expansion in the healthcare industry, MDC (Medical Products Division) was finally spun off in December 1999 as an independent organization and was recognized as Marsman Drysdale Medical Products, Inc (MDMPI). From a humble beginning of three employees in 1990, MDMPI has grown into a group of more than a hundred dedicated and service-oriented staff. Over 50% of the workforce are Product Application Specialists, Biomedical Engineers, and Technical Sales Representatives who are committed to serving and satisfying customers. Our Product Managers, Service Managers, Biomedical Engineers, and Product Application Specialists were trained at the principal's facilities according to their instrument specialization. MDMPI now boasts a much broader product range encompassing Hematology, Immunology, Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Coagulation, Urine Analysis, Microbiology, Blood Gas Analysis, Automation, POCT, and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). MD. Significantly, MPI was able to recently expand its business comprehensively with the new partnership acquisition for Medical Imaging, Rapid Testing, Wound Solutions, and other laboratory consumables in addition to its product portfolio.
